2024 RAM Dakota: Everything We Know So Far

RAM has said that it wants to get into the midsize truck market, which strongly suggests that the old Dodge Dakota model will be brought back. Based on the most recent information, the new 2024 RAM Dakota will use a body-on-frame chassis, much like the truck version of the Jeep Gladiator.

The powertrain will also be the same, and it is likely that the powerful Pentastar 3.6L V6 engine will give the RAM Dakota its power. This engine ought to generate something in the neighborhood of 285 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. We think that the legacy will continue, and that a 3.0-liter EcoDiesel engine will also be available as an alternative. This one has to have at least 260 horsepower and 442 pound-feet of torque at a minimum.

2024 RAM Dakota Design

In order to compete with other pickup trucks on the market, like the Ford Ranger, Chevrolet Colorado, GMC Canyon, and Toyota Tacoma, the new 2024 RAM Dakota will have a more modern look. There are several renderings available for the next truck, and they make it seem very stunning. Reports say that parts of the new pickup truck will be used in the Jeep Gladiator, which is the bigger of the two vehicles.

While we wait for additional information on the Ram Dakota, many people believe that this vehicle will revolutionize the mid-size category with a fresh design that should have a redesigned grille, headlamps, and sharper lines. While we wait for this information, we can only speculate about what the Ram Dakota will look like.

Interior Rumors

It is quite possible that the inside design of the 2024 RAM Dakota will be very similar to that of the 2023 RAM 1500. Even though it won’t be as cutting-edge as the RAM 1500, it should still have a wide range of standard and optional comfort features. There is a good chance that the front seat can be heated and cooled, that it will have leather upholstery, that it will have a heated steering wheel, that it will have wireless charging, and many more.

We have every reason to believe that the RAM Dakota will be available with a touchscreen display of at least 8.4 inches. The most recent iteration of the Ram 1500 may come with a huge touchscreen measuring 12 inches across and angled vertically. Along with a Wi-Fi connection, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto should all be standard equipment for even the most basic automobiles.

2024 RAM Dakota Engine Options

We predict that the Jeep Gladiator and the 2024 Ram Dakota will share a drivetrain as well, given that they are likely to share a platform in the future. Because of this, it’s likely that the latest RAM Dakota will have a reliable Pentastar 3.6L V6 engine.

In case you were unaware, the same engine powers the Jeep Wrangler. It can generate 285 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. There is also an alternative engine choice available, which is an EcoDiesel of 3.0 liters that should be far more fuel efficient.

How Much Will the 2024 RAM Dakota Cost?

Ram has not yet provided information on the price and available trim levels for their future car. On the other hand, a number of credible sources say that the Dakota’s base price will be somewhere around $26,000.

They also say that the Dakota will come in different trim levels, starting with the $30,000 Tradesman SLT, followed by the $26,000 Limited and the $32,000 Laramie. will the Ram Dakota have the Ram Box management system like the 1500 Rebel?
plus the multifunction tailgate and the step under the center of the tailgate? I also currently have the 4 corner suspension, but maybe the Dakota smaller stature wouldn’t need it? if the Rebel is just as high off the ground I would want and need the 4 corner suspension.
