In the year 2019, Isuzu unveiled the third generation of their versatile pickup truck, the D-Max, setting its sights on competing with the formidable Toyota Hilux and Ford Ranger in the demanding US market. Since its debut, this rugged vehicle has consistently delivered impressive sales figures. While occupying a distinct niche below its aforementioned competitors. As we look ahead to 2024 Isuzu D-Max is gearing up for a series of subtle yet meaningful enhancements. These modifications will encompass minor interior updates and some discreet alterations under the hood. These changes are set to elevate the D-Max’s overall appeal and performance. Making it an even more compelling choice for truck enthusiasts.
One particularly eye-catching transformation is expected to be witnessed in the X-Terrain model. Which is poised to emerge as an off-road juggernaut like never before. With these improvements, the 2024 Isuzu D-Max promises to captivate both the eye and the adventurous spirit of pickup truck aficionados. Solidifying its position in the fiercely competitive market.
2024 Isuzu D-Max Specifications
In 2024, the Isuzu D-Max will get an upgrade under the hood. We are talking about a noticeable bump in horsepower, but the engine will stay the same. Instead of the previous 150 horsepower, the upgraded engine will have 178 horsepower. Also, we will get a slight rise in torque, and instead of 350 pound-feet of torque, we will have 400 pound-feet of torque in the 2024 model. The engine will still be the same turbo-diesel inline-four engine with a displacement of 1.9 liters.
Also, the new model will get a huge gearbox upgrade, and instead of the previously six-speed automatic, the new 2024 Isuzu D-Max will get an eight-speed automatic gearbox.
This new gearbox and upgraded suspension will help this truck have never-before-seen driving characteristics and excellent driving capabilities.
Also, thanks to the new, more rugged chassis, we expect a rise in towing and payload capabilities.
There are no official statements from Isuzu Motors about numbers, but we can guess.
And our predictions are: When it’s properly equipped, the maximum towing capacity should be around 7500 pounds, and the maximum payload should be around 1600 pounds.

He is looking like a good deal for customers who want a capable truck but are not ready for extreme offroading.
With a starting price of around $55,000, he will offer a 3.0 diesel engine with 280 horsepower and all-wheel drive. Also, he will come standard with a rear-locking differential and additional driving modes.
