The production of the all-new 2022 Tesla Cybertruck electric truck has been delayed for 2022 due to some improvements. This model was shown to the public last year, featuring an odd look. However, the Cybertruck has the capabilities to challenge all of the top-selling pickup trucks.
It comes with a sharp-edged exterior that is made of scratch and dent-resistant stainless steel. Along, this truck can tow up to 14,000 pounds and has an estimated driving range of 500-plus miles thanks to potent electric motors. According to Tesla, the cheapest one starts at $39,900, while the most expensive is the model that comes with three engines beginning at 69,990.
2022 Tesla Cybertruck Design
The new 2022 Tesla Cybertruck is the model that uses unibody construction, which is opposed to the traditional body-on-frame arrangement. Tesla calls this construction an exoskeleton. Either way, the construction is stiff, and the manufacturer used plain steel, no paint. According to Tesla, the stainless steel is rust-resistant, and Cybertruck comes with ultra-strong armored glass with polymer-layered composite. Interestingly, there are no side mirrors because Tesla uses a rear-facing cameras in the front fenders.
We also noticed that there is a lack of windshield wipers, but from what we heard, Tesla has used a new patent covering electromagnetic wipers. Overall, the design is odd, and this truck look is taken from the Mad Max movie. The new 2022 Tesla Cybertruck comes with an adaptive air suspension and ground clearance up to 16 inches. Considering that this model doesn’t have a standard engine, there is around 100 cubic feet of lockable storage. The roller-shutter is present on the bed where an integrated ramp is stowed. We must mention that the bed houses 120-volt and 240-volt outlets and air compressors.
Cabin With Six Seats
The new 2022 Tesla Cybertruck comes with a spartan cabin that reminds us of a Tesla Model 3 interior. However, at this point, many standard features and options haven’t been disclosed, and we are still waiting for a full list of equipment. As far as we know, the new Tesla truck dominates inside with a 17-inch touchscreen horizontally mounted in the center of the dashboard.
Also, no less attractive is the new steering wheel with an illuminated display. According to Tesla, the new Cybertruck will offer seats for six people. In general, its 6.4-foot cargo bed offers 100 cubic feet of volume. Overall, we also expect most of the rooms in two rows, while the third one should be ideal for kids or taller passengers.
Safety Features
There is no complaint so far about safety on Tesla models. Every vehicle will feature Tesla’s controversial self-driving Autopilot feature and Full Self-Driving option that cost an additional $7000. Besides, we also expect to see much more driver-assistance technology to be available as standard.
2022 Tesla Cybertruck Powertrain Specs
We don’t have yet any information on how much horsepower or torque will the new Cybertruck offer. Tesla announced that there would be three motor options. The first one is the entry-level model that comes with one electric motor and rear-wheel drive. This unit will deliver a range of 250 miles and the ability to tow 7,500 pounds. The next engine consists of two electric motors/all-wheel-drive/300-mile range/10,000-pound towing capacity.
The last and the most potent is a model with three electric motors, one up front, two in the back. According to the manufacturer, this one will provide a 500-mile range/14,000-pound towing capacity. As for charging, you can use a network of Tesla Superchargers as the quickest way of recharging the new Cybertruck. From what we heard, from 10 to 100 percent, it takes less than an hour. On top of that, you can use a 240-volt charger, but it takes for complete replenishment about 10 hours.
How Much Will the Tesla Cybertruck Cost?
As we mentioned, the upcoming 2022 Tesla Cybertruck will arrive sometime next year. With one motor and rear-wheel drive, this model costs $39,900.
However, choosing a truck with two engines and an all-wheel drive, the price will jump to $49,900. Lastly, a model with three motors costs 69,990. The main rival of the Cybertruck is the Ford F-150 Lightning, which starts at around $39,974.
Will the CyberTruck have a provision to install or already have installed a tonneau cover to protect items carried in the bed? Will it come with a spare tire, jack, etc to fix a flat tire? I like the ramp in the tailgate door. Is that a standard feature?
