RAM is preparing us for a mid-cycle exterior and interior refresh for the upcoming 2025 RAM 2500. It will keep the same engine options, but thanks to small upgrades, they will be more potent and offer better mileage. Also, the interior will get a few updates that will include a new infotainment system, an updated version of RAM software, and a lot of new technology features.
Some things will not change. And they have the well-known RAM 2500’s tough exterior. Powerful and reliable performance. best-in-class offroad capabilities. And impressive towing and payload capabilities. A significant selling feature of the previous versions of the RAM 2500 was their extensive range of trim levels and customizable choices. The forthcoming version will not only continue to provide numerous options like previous ones. but will also introduce additional new selections.
2025 RAM 2500 Performance
The 2025 RAM 2500 will come in two engine variations. One of the variants will have a monster inline-six turbo diesel powertrain with a displacement of 6.7 liters. This mill will produce around 395 horsepower thanks to the new fuel injection system. And it will have around 900 pound-feet of torque. Also, towing and payload capacities will increase thanks to stronger engines and a stiffer chassis. We expect that the new 2025 RAM 2500 will be able to pull up to 21.000 pounds and carry 3250 pounds.
The second engine variant will be a 6.4-liter V8 HEMI engine. This engine will produce 430 horsepower and be able to deliver 450 pound-feet of torque. The maximum towing capacity should be under 18.000 pounds, and we expect it to be able to carry up to 4200 pounds.
The 2025 RAM 2500 will come with rear-wheel drive, but it will be able to be configured for all-wheel drive. Also, some trims will come with all-wheel drive. All engines will be paired with an 8-speed automatic gearbox.
We mentioned before that fuel consumption will improve, but because there is no official statement from RAM, we can just guess numbers. So we expect HEMI’s numbers to be around 12 MPG in the city and 19 MPG on the highway. And for diesel in the city, we expect it to improve to 16 MPG and on the highway to 18 MPG.
2025 RAM 2500 Trim Levels
Like we already mentioned before. The 2025 RAM 2500 will come with plenty of TRIM levels. To be precise, we expect to see 8 trim levels with up to 32 cab configurations.
The base equipment level will be Tradesman. It will be followed by Lone Star and Big Horn.
The middle of the offer and the best mix between price and capabilities will be Laramie.
The Power Wagon will be the first all-wheel-drive model to offer good off-road capabilities.
It will be followed by the Power Wagon Rebel, which will offer a small boost in luxury.
Longhorn and Limited will be two models that will come with plenty of luxurious features and that will offer plenty of safety and technology equipment. But the price will be significantly higher than other trims.
For cab configurations, there will be the crew cab, the mega cab, and the regular cab. Also, it will come with different bed lengths ranging from 6.4 feet up to 8 feet.
2025 RAM 2500 Redisign
The 2025 RAM 2500 will receive a mid-cycle refresh. The truck’s design language will remain unchanged, featuring the familiar bold aesthetic characterized by numerous sharp lines and rugged exterior elements. But the front grille will be redesigned to allow better airflow and reduce air resistance. Also, the headlights will get a small refresh and a more aggressive look.
The body line of the truck will remain the same. For the 2025 model year, the RAM 2500 will also get improved suspension, and on offroad trims, it will get a more rugged exterior with better underbody protection. Also, we expect to see new color options and a new rim design.
The interior of the car will also receive a few significant changes, especially on higher-tier trims.
Starting with the infotainment system, it will get new, updated software and a bigger 13-inch touchscreen. Also, the RAM will redesign seats, the driver’s digital cluster, and much more.
Price and release date
There is no official statement from Stellantis about the release date or starting price of the 2025 RAM 2500. But we expect the starting price to be a little higher than the previous model and to be around $48,000 for Tradesman Trim.
For top-tier trims, the price should be around $80.000.
Our pick is the Laramie Trim. Because it offers a good mix of comfort, capabilities, and price, it should start at $65,000.
