Considering that the new truck will use the same platform with the recently shown Ford Rangers, there is a huge possibility that it will use the same engine as well. The new renderings of the 2023 Volkswagen Amarok reveals a completely new look, which is substantially different from the outgoing model. On the outside, this truck features daytime-running lights that are stretching across the grille. In general, the front fascia looks identical to the recently revealed Ford Ranger.
Unlike the previous model, the design of the new Volkswagen Amarok is more unique, featuring attractive alloy wheels. We also noticed an embossed tailgate with ‘AMAROK’ letterings and redesigned taillights that look different from its sibling.
More Modern Interior
Inside, the 2023 Volkswagen Amarok will feature a completely new cabin. As far as we can tell, the manufacturer will keep the same seating layout, but it will add more quality materials through trim levels. We’re expecting this truck to come standard with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto smartphone integration, satellite radio, and a portrait-oriented infotainment touchscreen.
Nevertheless, on the upper trims you should expect leather-wrapped steering wheel, keyless entry/ignition, leather-trimmed/heated/power-adjustable front seats, ambient cabin lighting, and more amenities. Right now, there is no official information regarding the engine of the upcoming 2023 Volkswagen Amarok. However, considering it will share many components with the Ford Ranger, it might also deploy the same engine as well. The current Ranger is using Ford’s 2.3-liter 4-cylinder engine that produces 270 horsepower with 310 lb.-ft of torque.
The engine is currently use a 10-speed automatic transmission sending power to the rear wheels in standard form or all four with the optional 4-wheel drive system. On top of that, the engine is fuel-efficient thanks to engine stop/restart function that can be turned off if the driver wishes.

Based on some rumors, the forthcoming 2023 Volkswagen Amarok will cost significantly more than the outgoing truck. From news, it will start at $30,000, which is around $5000 more than the cost of the Ford Ranger model.
