The rumors about the new 2023 Honda Ridgeline Type R are not settling down at all. As you probably know, the Ridgeline pickup truck is one of the most trustworthy vehicles in the segment. This model offers great athletic designs and one of the most modern cabins.
According to news, Honda is working on a more sportier Type R variant that will arrive sometime next year. Along with more aggressive styling, this model will come with a new suspension and a cabin that’s full of premium materials. As the standard model, the Type R will use the same 3.5-liter V6 engine that should be re-tuned, making greater power.
2023 Honda Ridgeline Type R Exterior Design
The all-new 2023 Honda Ridgeline Type R will have a sportier appearance than the standard model. Basically, it will be Ridgeline on steroids. Anyway, some of the renderings are available, and they reveal bold and aggressive styling. This unique truck will add more muscles, and it will have new wheels, wider air vents, and larger air intakes.
A blacked-out grille that we saw on the Black Edition is present just like and a redesigned bumper. On the other hand, Honda will likely to lower the ride height of this model and add sportier 19-inch wheels.
On the inside, the 2023 Honda Ridgeline Type R comfort should be increased compared to the regular model. However, we can expect the same seating layout and enough room to accommodate five passengers. As usual, the high-performance model will offer a plethora of better features, and it will also come with more supportive seats.
The Japanese carmaker, according to rumors, will add leather seats, contrast stitching, and sporty steering wheel. Because the Honda Ridgeline is closely related to the Pilot model, expect both to share many features. Hopefully, the Type R might come with a larger screen than the current 8-inch one. Also, as on many Honda models, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto should be standard.
2023 Honda Ridgeline Type R Engine Specs
As the regular Honda Ridgeline, the Type R model will use the same engine. It will be powered by a potent 3.5-liter V6 engine that could be re-tuned. Based on rumors, the engine under the hood of the 2023 Honda Ridgeline Type R could generate 400 horsepower and 410 lb.-ft of torque.
Although this numbers are not yet officially confirmed. We also got information that the VTEC system and direct-injection fuel system would be available as well. The current Honda Ridgeline with the same engine produces 280 horsepower and 262 lb.-ft of torque.
Price, Release Date
The more aggressive Honda Ridgeline is coming, and it will bring more attractiveness than we thought. As far as we can say, the forthcoming Honda Ridgeline Type R may be more expensive than the Black Edition Ridgeline trim, which is currently the top trim level.
So, the price of approximately $50,000 is likely. The high-performance pickup truck from many unofficial reports will go on sale next year, probably in the second half.
