The heavy-duty pickup truck segment will be richer with two redesigned 2024 RAM HD trucks, the RAM 2500 and RAM 3500. Both of them are comfortable, high-tech rich, and very luxurious on the inside.
For the 2024 model year, RAM will make this truck more attractive thanks to some updates. Like the previous generation, the forthcoming one can be had with either a gas-powered 6.4-liter Hemi V8 or a Cummins 6.7-liter turbo-diesel inline-6. It is worth mentioning that a special high-output version of this engine is also available and it is exclusive to the Ram 3500 model. As before, the new truck has a few direct competitors, including the Ford Super Duty, GMC Sierra HD, and the HD variants of the Chevrolet Silverado.
2024 RAM HD Redesign
Compared to the outgoing model, the 2024 RAM HD has a more muscular appearance. It features a colossal grille, a traditionally boxy design, and sharp edges. The Limited model is the most recognized thanks to its own special grille, while the Limited Longhorn offers unique 2-tone paint options.
The off-road Power Wagon should be available as well, and we’re expecting a more rugged appearance similar to that we saw with the Ram 1500 Rebel. Overall, there is plenty of variety that allows you to choose the trim that best fits your own style.
First Look Inside
The 2024 RAM HD is a very modern truck that has a spacious and functional cabin. Anyway, depending on cab options, the comfort will vary. For example, the Regular Cab is not available with back seats, while the Crew Cab has a roomy back seat, and the Mega Cab has 43 inches of rear legroom.
We recommend getting at least the Big Horn, which unlocks an 8.4-inch infotainment system, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and more. Finally, there’s the Limited trim, which is on the top. This model adds a 12-inch infotainment system, aluminum interior trim, blind-spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, and a 360-degree camera.
2024 RAM HD Engine Specs
Under the hood, the 2024 RAM HD will be available with three engines. The base one is a gas-powered 6.4-liter Hemi V8, which makes 410 horsepower and 429 lb-ft of torque. The next one is a 6.7-liter turbocharged diesel inline-6 that produces 370 horsepower and 850 lb-ft of torque. A special high-output version of the 6.7-liter turbocharged diesel inline-6 is available as well, but only with the RAM 3500.
This engine is capable of producing 420 horsepower and an amazing 1,075 lb-ft of torque. This amazing engine provides a class-leading max tow rating of 37,100 pounds. The V8 engine is connected to an 8-speed automatic transmission, while the Cummins has a 6-speed automatic.
2024 RAM HD Price, Release Date
The current pricing of the RAM HD starts at $39,160 for the RWD 2500 Regular Cab Tradesman model. Pricing will certainly increase when you upgrade the trim level. For example, the 2500 Crew Cab model starts at $42,780, while the 2500 Mega Cab is around $52,155.
The 3500 Regular Cab model costs $40,000, while the bigger Mega Cab begins at $54,050. Anyway, the Cummins turbo-diesel costs $9,400 more than the pricing above. If you want the high-output version, you must be prepared to pay $12,000. All three models are expected to appear on the market before the fall of next year.
