The 2024 Chevy Montana is General Motors’ vision of a compact pickup truck. It was originally produced from 2003 to 2021. But it was discontinued because of low interest and sales. Previously known as Nova Montana in 2023, he gets a new, shorter name. From now on, Nova Montana becomes just Montana. Also, from 2023 on, the interior and exterior get a new, more modern redesign to attract new customers. The 2024 Chevy Montana will come in four different trim levels. Ranging from the base trim called MT to the top-tier named Premier trim,
MT and LT trims will include six airbags, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and a wireless charging pad. The biggest difference between these 2 base trims will be that the LT will get 17-inch wheels as the standard option and more color options.
LTZ and Premier option packages will include an automatic 6-speed gearbox as an option. New electrically powered tailgate. Improved comfort on front-row seats with better lumbar support. Blind spot marking and an improved infotainment system. All trim levels will come standard with front-wheel drive and manual transmission as an option. Also included in the standard equipment will be a multi-flex backpack with a lot of options for customization.
Specifications
The 2024 Chevy Montana will come with a 1.2-liter turbocharged 3-cylinder engine that can provide up to 133 horsepower and 155 pound-feet of torque. There are two transmission options available to customers. There are two 6-speed transmissions, one automatic and the other manual. The length of this pickup is 185.7 in. with a wheelbase of 121.1in. The width is 71.6 inches, and the height is 68.7 inches. The Montana bed can carry up to 1400 pounds of cargo, and the truck can tow up to 3500 pounds. For fuel consumption, GM promises 31.2 MPG on the highway and 27 MPG in the city.
The Chevy Montana may get a hybrid powertrain in the 2024 model year, but no specific information is available at this time.
2024 Chevy Montana VS Ford Maverick
The biggest competition for Chevy Montana is the Ford Maverick. Maverick has multiple engine options, and all of them are stronger than Montana’s 1.2 liters. The hybrid powertrain of the Maverick has 191 horsepower, and the 2.0-liter EcoBoost has 250 horsepower and 271 pound-feet of torque. Maverick also offers a better towing capacity of 4000 pounds and a higher maximum payload capacity of 1500 pounds. The Ford Maverick will have a slightly higher starting price than Montana, at $27.000, and will go up to $36.000 for the hybrid model.
2024 Chevy Montana Interior and Exterior
The 2024 Chevy Montana’s exterior will not change much from the previous version. It will follow a few minor changes like its biggest cousin, the Chevy Colorado. That change should include new, vibrant color options to attract new, young customers. A new 17-inch wheel with new design patterns Also, there is a rumor that GM will give the 2024 Chevy Montana a totally new headlight pattern. There is a suggestion from GM that Montana will be offered more truck cabin options. For now, it is just offered in a 4-door, 5-passenger option. The exterior of the truck will be dominated by a 31-cubic-foot bed with a multi-flex solution for driver equipment and tools. Now, it will also come with a bad cover as standard equipment in better-equipped models.
Also, as we previously said, there should be new exterior colors available. Some of them are Arc White, Wheatland Yellow, Woodland Green, Dark Blue Metalic, and Victory Red.
For the interior, there will also be a few small changes. That should include better-quality materials for the interior all around the cabin. More comfortable seats for longer rides. Updated infotainment system with a 12-inch touchscreen display on the center console. Plenty of options to connect phones and other gadgets. Also, the truck will not lack safety features. That will include blind spot marking, a rear camera, an auto braking system in case of emergency, and much more. Also as part of standard equipment, Montana will get two-zone climate control.
Price and Release Date
We expect to see Montana hit the market in the first quarter of 2024, with a starting price of around $23,000 for a base trim. The price will range up to $30.00 for the top-tier trim.
For the hybrid variant of Montana, we do not have any precise information at this moment.
But we hope GM will surprise us at the end of 2023 with a hybrid Montana announcement.
