The new 2024 Chevrolet Silverado HD Prototype has been caught testing for the first time this year. In case you didn’t know, the current-generation received a facelift two years ago, and since then, sales of these trucks have jumped by 15%. As we can see from the first spy shots, the forthcoming model is certainly bolder, and it appears that it will receive some upgrades at the front and rear.
First and foremost, the image shows the upcoming Silverado HD prototypes hooked to trailers hauling. At this point, we don’t know exactly what’s going on here, but it seems that Chevy is testing the towing capability of the new truck. Here’s everything that we know about this heavy-working truck.
2024 Chevrolet Silverado HD Upgrades
First spy images of the upcoming 2024 Chevrolet Silverado HD are available, and we must admit, the new truck looks refreshed. First of all, Silverado HD has been caught testing wearing coverings, which hides front and rear facias. It appears that the new model will come with a headlight that is getting a makeover.
On top of that, the grille looks larger, and we noticed a horizontal bar that looks much wider. As for the rear, visible changes are minimal, and the manufacture is primarily focused on the taillight design.
More Amenities Offered
The new 2024 Chevrolet Silverado HD will keep the same comfortable cabin. This model offers a wide spectrum of interior configurations and technology. The Chevy’s crew-cab is the pinnacle on offer thanks to its longer wheelbase that results in increased passenger space. However, as before, the Silverado’s cabin offers many amenities as standard. Indeed, it still cannot match RAM HD models, but is very close to achieving that.
Every Silverado HD comes with a 8.0-inch touchscreen that supports Chevy’s latest Infotainment 3 software, and supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Also, buyers can get a seven-speaker Bose audio system, additional power points, SiriusXM satellite radio, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and wireless charging as well.
2024 Chevrolet Silverado HD Engine Specs
Under the hood, the new 2024 Chevrolet Silverado HD will probably receive a long-waited boost. From information that we got, the Duramax diesel will be the pinnacle on offer thanks to some mapping. In case you didn’t know, the 6.6-liter engine currently ranks behind its rivals from Ford and Ram, with its 445 horsepower and 910 pound-feet of torque. This engine comes with Allison 10-speed automatic.
However, the updated model could see those numbers rise to 500 hp and 1,000 lb-ft. If that happens, Chevrolet Silverado HD could be the first truck in history that will crash mentioned rivals.
When Can We Expect a Debut?
The 2024 Chevrolet Silverado HD has been recently spied testing, covered mostly on the front and rear. However, spy sources don’t have any definitive dates pinned down, but many suggest that this truck will be fully revealed later this year.
So, expect sales of this truck to start probably in the first quarter of 2023 as 2024YM. The price will depend on the chosen trim, on which Work Truck is the base one starting at $41,000. The LT is one upper trim that cost $45,000, while the most expensive is a High Country with a price of $68,000.
