The upcoming 2023 Ford Ranger Raptor has been caught testing on public roads for the second time this year. Fun fact is that this pickup truck is looking seriously aggressive. However, the captured prototype is heavily camouflaged, and we noticed some changes and updates.
At first glance, it features the new Ford mesh-style grille and much more attractive LED headlights. Generally speaking, with every release, this model looks every time more similar to the current-generation F-150. While it still rides on the same fully boxed ladder frame as the regular Ranger, the Raptor variant comes with a long-travel suspension ideal for quicker desert runs. Moreover, when the camo finally peels away, we’re expecting to see more changes.
2023 Ford Ranger Raptor Redesign
The new spy shots of the 2023 Ford Ranger Raptor are available, and we, at first glance, noticed some changes. First of all, the Ford Ranger Raptor is basically a downsized version of the F-150 Raptor. The Ford Raptor will probably be offered in one body style, a crew cab connected to a five-foot cargo box.
As with its big brother, the new model is off-road-ready, sharing many features. It comes with the same unmistakable new grille, flared fenders, and rugged tires. As we mentioned, it rides on the same fully boxed ladder frame as the regular Ranger. However, unlike the regular model, the Raptor variant will receive a long-travel suspension. This suspension is ideal for soaring over jumps on a desert run.
Cabin Details
Inside, the forthcoming 2023 Ford Ranger Raptor will be mildly different than the regular Ranger. However, it features the same seating layout and abundance of hard plastics and some rubberized materials. Ford will likely spruce up the cabin some of the new content for the following year.
First of all, expect leather and microsuede upholstery and heavily bolstered front seats. In addition, this model comes standard with dual-zone automatic climate control, heated front seats, remote start, and more. The Ranger Raptor also has an 8.0-inch touchscreen with Ford’s latest Sync infotainment software, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a Wi-Fi hotspot. Along with various charging ports, the Blue Oval also offers an option, built-in navigation, and a 12-speaker Bang & Olufsen audio system.
How Much Horsepower Does the 2023 Ford Ranger Raptor Have?
One of the biggest questions about the new 2023 Ford Ranger Raptor truck is what engine will be under the hood. However, we expect that the new model will inherit the same engine as the full-size Ford Bronco SUV. That means it will use a twin-turbo 2.7-liter V-6 that will make 310 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque. That power should be enough to send power to all four wheels through a 10-speed automatic transmission.
Compared to the previous generation, the Ford Ranger Raptor will have a sturdier suspension and beefier off-road equipment. Ford hasn’t yet released information regarding the fuel-economy report, but we presume that it will be much better than before.
Release Date and Price
The debut of the new 2023 Ford Ranger Raptor will probably happen in the second half of 2022. As you know, this truck is very highly rated, featuring plenty of off-road equipment.
As for the pricing, we expect the new Ford Ranger Raptor to be around $45,000, which is a slight increase compared to the current generation.
