The new 2023 Ford F-150 Raptor will be improved reportedly, and we can expect plenty of upgrades over the current generation. When this model arrived for the first time in 2009, it made a huge splash. This pickup truck is based on the Ford F-150, and it was the first one that was driven fast off-road without getting damaged. Unlike the regular truck, the Ford Raptor comes with an upgraded frame, suspension, and power ready for serious off-roading.
A twin-turbo V6 powers the Raptor truck connected to a 10-speed automatic transmission and standard all-wheel drive. The current engine produces 450 horsepower, which is still relatively wimpy compared to the Ram TRX model that makes 702 horses. However, there is a rumour that Ford is currently developing a Raptor R model that should be powered by a V8 engine delivering at least 700-hp.
2023 Ford F-150 Raptor Exterior
The upcoming 2023 Ford F-150 Raptor is a high-performance truck that looks robust and attractive. This model, as we said, is based on the regular F-150 model but is much more off-road oriented. Both models ride on the same sturdy platform that can tackle any terrain, providing a comfortable ride.
According to the latest news, the forthcoming model will receive some minor upgrades. It will be slightly wider, and it should wear a new grille and headlight design. As before, we expect to see 11 different grilles and three different headlight designs. The manufacturer also has to offer 13 different wheel designs, ranging from 17 to 22 inches. On the other hand, we expect Raptor R to be much beefier and bulkier. It will host new bumpers with tow hooks and winches, bigger power doom on the hood, a slightly different grille, and more.
Interior Upgrades
The 2023 Ford F-150 Raptor inside the cabin offers the same design layout and passenger space as the regular F-150 SuperCrew model. Stepping in, you will notice that Raptor is made of quality materials, offering great comfort. As far as we know, this truck will be no longer available in the extended cab (a.k.a. SuperCab) body style. The manufacturer will continue only with the SuperCrew crew cab version that offers more back-seat space.
For 2023, the Raptor will boost some techs as well, and we can expect a gauge cluster and a new steering wheel that wears a laser-etched logo. In general, the Raptor dominates with a massive 12.0-inch touchscreen that supports a standard Sync 4 infotainment system. The manufacturer will also add support for Amazon Alexa and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. For those who want more features, Ford also offers an 18-speaker B&O sound system and many amenities as well.
Safety Features
As the regular F-150, the high-performance Raptor model offers a variety of driver-assistance technology. It will be safer than before, thanks to many features. Likewise, this truck comes with assists what Ford calls Trail Control and Trail 1-Pedal Drive. Also, it has a standard forward-collision warning and automated emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, and lane-keeping assist.
2023 Ford F-150 Raptor Engine Specs
As before, the new 2023 Ford F-150 Raptor will use the same powertrain as the outgoing one. Beneath the hood of the F-150 Raptor is a familiar twin-turbo 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 engine that produces 450 horses. The engine comes with a paddle-shifted 10-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel-drive system as standard. Anyway, Ford will, alongside this model, also release a more powerful Raptor R model.
Obviously, Ford plans to attack Ram’s TRX model that produces 702-hp. From the available information, Raptor R will come with an equally powerful engine. Rumors suggest the R could get the same machine from the Shelby GT500. This unit delivers 760-hp with a supercharged V8.
2023 Ford F-150 Raptor Launch Date and Price
The debut of the new 2023 Ford F-150 Raptor will happen next year. According to the latest news, the next-generation model will be refreshed, but not significantly as we thought.
However, Ford is currently working alongside on the new high-performance variant Raptor R that will probably deploy the same engine from the Shelby GT500. It seems that Ford is going to attack the strongest truck in the class, the Ram TRX. We expect regular Raptor to starts at around $67,000, while Raptor R might start at $80,000.
