Blue Oval is currently working on the new 2023 Ford F-150 that will introduce significant changes compared to the outgoing generation. America’s best-selling pickup truck will go fully electric, and we can expect it to debut in the first half of 2022.
Thanks to recent spy photos, we gain an early look at the zero-emission truck. Unfortunately, the photos didn’t provide a detailed exterior view, because the prototype is heavily camouflaged. However, some minor tweaks on the front fascia are present as the new independent rear suspension setup. Also, we noticed a large Ford lettering that’s adorning the fascia, similar to the Raptor models.
2023 Ford F-150 Redesign
The first spy images of the 2022 Ford F-150 reveal some changes, mainly on the front fascia. Generally speaking, we first noticed that the electric version looks identical to the standard F-150 edition. Of course, some upgrades are present here and there but nothing significant. Actually, ride height, closed grille, and plug-in port are the most noticeable differences.
In addition, the heavily camouflaged Ford F-150 should also be equipped with the new independent rear suspension setup, resulting in a more stable ride. As we mentioned, the electric variant features Ford lettering and the LED strip connecting the headlights.
Cabin Upgrades
Unlike the gasoline-powered F-150, the new electric 2023 pickup truck will introduce better materials and technology. Overall, the seating layout remains the same, but there are a few key differences compared to the outgoing model. For example, the upcoming 2023 Ford F-150 should get an extra-large 12.0 inch touchscreen infotainment system with Ford’s latest Sync 4 and much more standard equipment.
However, choosing the Lariat and Platinum models, buyers will get a larger 15.0-inch display. Other standard features include Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, in-dash navigation, and a Wi-Fi hotspot. Ford will also add a new Bang & Olufsen system with eight speakers in the Lariat and 18 speakers in the Platinum level.
2023 Ford F-150 Electric Setup
Unlike the previous model, the new 2023 Ford F-150 will go fully electric, as per the latest news. This model from the reports will come standard with two electric motors and an all-wheel drive. On top of that, there will be two battery capacities available.
The model with a standard battery should deliver 426 horsepower and at least a driving range of 230 miles per charge. However, buyers will also get the opportunity to go for an extended-range battery, which boosts driving range to 300 miles. In addition, this model will deliver 563 horses with an impressive 775 lb-ft. Finally, Ford claims that buyers can charge this truck via home 110- and 220-volt outlets. Moreover, on the DC fast-charging stations, this model needs around 1 hour to be fully charged.
How Much Costs the New 2023 Ford F-150?
