The new renderings of the upcoming 2023 Chevrolet Avalanche pickup are available, and we’re hoping they will become a reality. As we can see, the new-generation will bring a completely new look. For those who may not know, the previous Avalanche was based on the Suburban, and we expect the new one to continue with the same tradition.
Anyway, the next generation Avalanche will ride on the updated GM T1 vehicle architecture, and it will finally get an independent rear suspension. Also, it is expected to feature a 5.3-liter V8 engine, that should produce 360 horsepower and 390 lb-ft of torque.
2023 Chevrolet Avalanche Facelift
The design of the new 2023 Chevrolet Avalanche looks refreshed mostly on the front fascia. First of all, the forthcoming truck has many similarities with the Suburban model. From the renderings we noticed something unusual for the model that could use a hybrid system.
Basically, the front grille is closed, just as we sow on almost all electric models. Also, the manufacturer added the thinner headlights and the new hood, which makes this model more sporty. We also noticed new and attractive wheels, as well as a short bed.
Completely New Interior
Just like the exterior, the 2023 Chevrolet Avalanche will come with a completely new interior as well. As before, we expect it to keep the same seating arrangement, which means there will be enough room for up to five-six occupants. Considering it shares the same platform and mechanics with the Suburban, there is a huge chance to share some of technologies as well.
The latest Suburban comes with an infotainment system of 10.2-inch touchscreen, which supports Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, satellite radio, six USB ports, and wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto smartphone integration.
Among the safety features, it includes front/rear parking sensors, automatic high beams, forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking and pedestrian detection, lane-keeping assistance, and more.
2023 Chevrolet Avalanche Engine Options
At this point, Chevy didn’t reveal what will power the new Avalanche. Most likely, the new truck will use as standard a 5.3-liter V8 engine that will produce 360 horsepower and 390 lb-ft of torque. Beside this engine, there are many reports that it could use as an option a more powerful 6.2-liter V8 engine. This engine could produces 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque.
Also, a smaller engine or a hybrid powertrain is a possibility. Chevrolet hasn’t revealed much information, though we expect those engines above to use an 8-speed automatic transmission for certainty. However, with a maximum weight of 8,100 pounds, the Avalanche can load nearly 1,400 pounds.
Is Chevrolet Going to Bring Back the Avalanche?
At this point, the manufacturer didn’t reveal any information about the price and release date of the 2023 Chevrolet Avalanche. From many reports, the forthcoming pickup will start at $30,000 for the base model. Anyway, this is an unofficial price, but you can anticipate a comparable price.
Chevrolet will probably release the new Avalanche late next year, so expect further specifications to be released in coming months.
