The all-new 2023 GMC Hummer EV will reportedly arrive next year, and it will be all-electric. As far as we know, the GMC’s first-generation pickup will offer excellent off-road capabilities and plenty of new techs, including Super Cruise.
On top of that, this truck is powered by one of the most potent electric motors, delivering 1,000 horsepower and 350 miles of range. Thanks to this engine, the forthcoming Hummer EV will be capable of accelerating to 60 mph in 3 seconds. Besides this model, we also expect some rivals to arrive at the same time. The closest competitors are Tesla Cybertruck, Rivian R1T, and Ford F-150 Lightning.
2023 GMC Hummer EV Exterior
The upcoming 2023 GMC Hummer EV pickup has been fully revealed at the beginning of the year, featuring rugged but classy styling. Unlike the H2 model, the new one looks more refreshed and dominates on the front end. This truck is much wider, featuring an attractive recognized grille, charge indicators headlights, and a small American flag hidden near the mid-section of the truck. Overall, the design will probably vary, depending on trim levels and equipment. Anyway, all models come with the new GMC’s super-trick MultiPro tailgate that can be folded all way down to put your accessories quickly.
There’s also an 11.3-cubic-foot trunk called by GMC an “eTrunk”), so you can put it inside groceries or a couple of roller-board suitcases. As standard, the GMC Hummer EV comes with 18-inch wheels with 35-inch–OD Goodyear Wrangler Territory MT tires, but it can be optionally equipped with up to 37-inch tires. For extra protection, this truck uses five skid plates/rock sliders and two underbody shields.
Cabin Equipment
On the inside, the 2023 GMC Hummer EV comes with a cabin that impresses with its spaciousness and comfort. Like many pickup trucks, this one also offers a comfortable ride for five passengers. Anyway, stepping into this truck, you’ll first notice a 13.4-inch touchscreen and 12.3-inch digital dash with great graphics and visual appeal. It also includes as standard an excellent Bose audio with 14-speakers and support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
Like on Jeep Gladiator, the GMC Hummer EV comes with the same lightweight panels that are removable without tools. The panels are reportedly made of Lexan or similar material, which is lighter than the glass.
2023 GMC Hummer EV Deploys Powerful System
The new 2023 Hummer EV is a fully electric pickup truck available either with a 2-motor or a 3-motor setup. The Edition 1 model will arrive first, and it will have a 3-motor setup. According to the manufacturer, this one edition is the most potent in the lineup, ranging 350 miles. It also has a repordatly 800-volt 350-kilowatt DC fast charging capability. From the official statement, for about 10 minutes of charging, the GMC Hummer Ev can travel around 100 miles.
General Motors will use new “Ultium batteries that are unique in the industry because of their large format. The fun fact is that battery can be stacked vertically or horizontally inside. As for a model with two electric motors, can expect at least 700 horses and 250 millage range.
When Can We Expect the new 2023 GMC Hummer EV?
The 2023 GMC Hummer EV is postponed for the next year due to the situation with the Covid-19 pandemic. As we mentioned, this pickup truck will replace the famous H2 model, and it will be made by GMC company. The first generation looks futuristic, and we like every detail made on it. On top of that, GMC used a potent three-electric motor setup that delivers 1000 horses and excellent battery capacity that should offer a range of 350 miles. From what we heard, the manufacturer will offer three trim levels.
The first one is called Hummer EV2, and it will use a 2-motor drive system. This model will reportedly arrive in 2023 as the 2024 model with starting price of around $80,000. The next one is Hummer EV2X with the same engine setup, plus it adds adaptive air suspension, CrabWalk, and Extract mode. Unlike the first one, this one will raise a price by $10,000 more. Lastly, the Hummer EV3X is the most potent edition with three electric engines, starting at $100,000.
