2023 Chevrolet Colorado First Look, Spy Shots

The prototype of the upcoming 2023 Chevrolet Colorado has been spied testing, wearing some mild changes. This pickup truck is very reliable and one of the best-selling in the United States. Unlike the previous model that arrived in 2015, the new truck looks surprisingly modern, featuring an attractive design and even better interior.

On the other hand, the manufacturer will introduce an updated version of the current model’s 31XX platform. Nevertheless, the dimensions will be slightly larger, and it will be noticeable at first glance. Interestingly, the mentioned platform will be able to deploy a hybrid system. In the same class are many trucks, and the closest rivals are Ford Ranger and Nissan Frontier.

2023 Chevrolet Colorado Redesign

The upcoming 2023 Chevrolet Colorado is a pickup truck that can stand out in a crowd of other models with a beautiful design. For the 2023 year, this model will come with a restyled body, primarily to the front end. Few trims are available, and the WT, LT, and Z71 models gains updated lower facias, center bars, and skid plates.

The ZR2 is the most favorite model, especially for a younger population. This variant gets a new front fascia, and it retains its traditional body-on-frame platform. With this redesign, the ZR2 will try to beat the most completed pickup truck in the segments, Toyota Tacoma. Also, the ZR2 is ideal for rock-crawling thanks to a raised suspension, a wider track, revised bumpers, and a functional skid plate.

Cabin Improvements

Considering that the new 2023 Chevy Colorado rolls on the updated version of the current model’s 31XX platform, we presume that there should be a more comfortable cabin. However, like the previous generation, the new one can fit five passengers. Unlike the rest of the competitions, Chevy doesn’t offer many premium interior fit-and-finish materials. On the other hand, buyers with the regular model are getting a 7-inch touchscreen and many gadgets.

However, there is an upgraded Infotainment 3 system on the upper trim LT and an 8-inch touchscreen display. First thing first, an overall cabin design is excellent, and this truck can definitively stand up with more premium models. Besides, all the seats are supportive, and Colorado offers a decent passenger room in the second row.

2023 Chevrolet Colorado Powertrain Options

Alongside old engines, the new 2023 Chevrolet Colorado should introduce some of the new ones. The current Chevy Colorado is offered with a choice of three different engines. The entry-level model uses a 2.5-liter four that delivers 200-horsepower. Besides, the manufacturer also offers a famous 3.6-liter V6 engine that’s capable of developing 308 horses.

A diesel engine is available as well, and it consists of a 2.8-liter turbodiesel-4 producing 186 horsepower. This engine delivers the best fuel economy up to 30 mpg in rear-wheel-drive (2WD) configuration. The Chevy Colorado comes with either 2WD or 4WD, depending on trim. From some rumors, a hybrid option may also be available to the new generation.

2023 Chevrolet Colorado Release Date and Price

At this point, the manufacturer is still quiet about the upcoming 2023 Chevrolet Colorado. By the way, many believe that the redesigned model will appear sometime next year. We are honestly hoping that the new model will be unveiled by the end of this year. According to Chevrolet, at the same time, we can also expect the new GMC Canyon to debut as well.

Currently, Colorado costs $25,200, and we think that the new one could start slightly higher. As you probably noticed, the Colorado truck is priced lower than the Toyota Tacoma, Jeep Gladiator, Honda Ridgeline, Ford Ranger, and Nissan Frontier.
